Case Study: ERP and Month-End Support

February 15, 2024

Context

A private manufacturer in the Greater Boston area was undergoing an ERP conversion. As a result, their team was over capacity and needed assistance both for month-end close and general accounting items.

Issue

Due to our clients ERP implementation, their team was taking on additional projects and hours. They needed an experienced consultant who was able to jump into month-end reporting with little to no coaching, take ownership of their tasks and relieve duties from key team members.

As a result of our team being comprised of experienced public accountants and industry veterans, our Consultant was able to take over month-end close duties, and additional tasks related to the ERP implementation.

Solutions

  1. Solaris owned several month-end close, and financial year-end processes.
  2. We became a key contributor to their ERP implementation and fully integrated into EP implementation team within weeks of onboarding.
  3. Solaris formed a strong client relationship and was able to leverage our parent company, Roessel Joy, to bring on temporary staff as needed.
  4. Through our internal team collaboration, Solaris was able to onboard an additional Consulting Manager to assist with their financial statement audit and mont-end close duties without interrupting any client team members.

Results

Our client was able to feel confident in the consultants Solaris was able to offer them.

Through a combination of technical accounting knowledge and interpersonal skills, Solaris' consultants were able to integrate and provide impacts immediately after onboarding with our client, allowing ERP and audit timelines to remain on track.
